E-Mail Cleaning - Best Practice

Example 1

Following an example of the traffic managed by one of our ISP customers with approx 1,5 million mail box.
Its offer configuration comprises anti-spam filter active for inbound messages only, while antivirus is not active (their commercial policy is focused on sales of client based antivirus system).

Blacklisting systems are managed directly by the customer using customized lists. Therefore the traffic forwarded to Tiscali is net of the messages blocked by their systems and with an overall good quality. The final results of the two blocking level (blacklist + antispam) can be considered excellent.

Example 2

Following an example of the daily traffic managed by one of our ISP customers with approx 4 million mail box.
Its offer configuration is similar to previous example but the blacklisting system is managed by Tiscali.

example2

To estimate the incoming traffic reaching the black listing system, we can estimate average 50 addresses per refused connection, meaning that over 300 million. Messages are blocked in advance. The picture above describes the traffic overcoming the blacklisting filter.
